The History of the ‘Ideal’ Female body Shape

Different body shapes have been “in” for women during different eras. If ‘too many’ women are able to meet the ideal, then standards have to change for the ideal to retain its extraordinary nature.

Society continues to fabricate new ‘body ideals’ to strive for, which, often, cannot even be achieved naturally. When you look back through history these have varied vastly, with certain body parts being demonised only to be later celebrated.

Society’s ‘ideal’ body type changes as quick as fashion, so remind yourself the next time you feel like your body is less than perfect, that the current ‘ideal’ will only last a short time, before changing to something different.

The Media’s idea of beauty is subjective and changes, but self confidence is always in style.
